2020- Nature has taken its course of action

Year 2020 started with a bang even though there was a problem reported on new year eve in some part of china. Less anyone cared as it didn’t bothered any one. Life was perfectly normal and only China was scratching its head to combat something new and unusual in Wuhan which turned out to be the epicenter of the new sensation which the world wasn’t geared up for !

Come February things were normal. People were busy exchanging flowers, gifts for valentine’s day and no one had an imagination that this valentine year they would end up staying with their near and dear ones this long. March beginning is when this started getting some traction as the bad dude starting exploring beyond Wuhan. Little Italy knew that he loves Pisa and Pizza ! He came like a storm and took the reigns to an extend that even Italian mafia were left baffled. Italy was the first big causality and country was completely shutdown and so was Iran and Korea and other places. This little guy became a globe trotter and seems like was in a hurry to complete the world tour in 30 days. He seemed like a messenger of nature which knew when and how to take corrective action.

A pandemic took over the world and for a moment it looked like the whole world has come together for the very FIRST TIME, Yes you heard it right. For the very first time the world has a common enemy and seems like brotherhood all over the place. Never in the history of modern times something like had happened. Not an exaggeration to say that by far this has been the most deadliest attach on human existence. This has shook the way of life of people making us realize how vulnerable we are and so tiny in the bigger scheme of things in the universe. This has been a big hit to humans ego who was considered superior intellectually and on all aspects.

We are left with going back to basics of “Washing hands” and staying at home. This has become the only topics on social media and can’t get tired of every Tom, Dick and Harry telling us on what we should be doing. Those are in this time are witnessing an epic time. It’s an interesting time in human race and some day in future the Gen-Next will study this along with Paleolithic Period, Mesolithic Period and Neolithic Period.

There has been pandemic outbreaks but not at this magnitude challenging human existence and way of life. Can you imagine most of the world sitting at home for weeks and months together and doing nothing. When did we heard last about major sporting events cancelled or postponed. The last time the Olympics were canceled was during World War II. The 1940 summer and winter Olympics were both scheduled to be held in Japan. Coincidentally Japan is hosting 2020 which is pushed to next year.

the impact of Mr.Virus is massive. Besides the economic collapse( don’t even bother to look at your investment portfolio as it is laying flat) the social and cultural and all aspects touching human is impacted. Did I say touch? oops, not the best word to use now !

Life has become the most precious thing and everyone caring less for the significant impact caused on businesses and the economy.

Looks like nature has finally taught us a lesson. We have been super greedy, arrogant and branded ourselves as demigod. We left nothing for other creatures for whom too this earth belonged. The only creatures happily going around is them when we are all locked up in the house. It is indeed heartening to see the positive change. The pollution level is at all time low. The gas prices is at all time low. It looked like this correction was much needed for mother earth.

As the pandemic leaves the world’s major cities deserted by humans, animals have been spotted enjoying the peace and quiet.

The global outbreak of the virus has seen many countries such as Spain, Italy, Japan and Chile, as well as the UK, impose a lockdown on citizens.

But mother nature is making the most of the situation, with various wild animals spotted reclaiming the streets of some of the world’s most densely populated areas.

Someday in future we will remember what an incredible year 2020 has been. No year been like this. Few things to list so I remember what we did during this time

  • Washing hands numerous times a day
  • Washing anything and everything from external contact
  • Walking around with masks
  • lock down for this long time(month at least)
  • schools, colleges cancelled and exams postponed
  • Some places people beaten for stepping outside
  • Sporting events cancelled
  • Economy tumbled
  • worldwide flights cancelled
  • Buses, trains cancelled
  • Vacations cancelled
  • Living in fear on when this little guy going to get into our body
  • Every person in this world(at least close) will know about this Mr.Virus making him the most popular star of our generation
  • Place of worships closed. Even in places where people run to worship places for everything reset their beliefs. For once even god wanted a break from humans.
  • literally life has come to a standstill.

Animals and birds are super happy and reclaiming what belongs to them

Some heartening stories – source – various

  • In Uttarakhand, three Sambar deer were spotted walking on the streets, while a nilgai was found strolling in Noida.
  • An elephant was captured in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun
  • a Small Indian civet was seen in Kerala’s Kozhikode  A critically endangered mammal not seen until 1990 resurfaces for the first time in India during lock down
  • Olive Ridley Turtles came ashore a beach in Odisha
  • A bison passed through a marketplace in Karnataka,
  • peacocks danced on the streets in Mumbai, and a leopard reached close to an Air Force base near Patna in Bihar
  • Wild turkeys took their spot at a school playground in California
  • a coyote was spotted on the streets of San Francisco
  • wild pigs reached the streets of Paris
  • A snake makes itself at home in an unused scooter amid the lockdown.
  • dolphins are approaching the Mumbai coast. They already have settled in Italy busy ports.

It is a lesson in human-wildlife conflict that tells us how we have occupied their spaces — and how animals reclaim them the first chance they get. For instance, the abandoned city of Pripyat in Northern Ukraine, the site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. More than 30 years after the nuclear disaster, the place is now inhabited by more than 200 bird species and other animals, including in the exclusion zone that humans had created after the explosion. Perhaps it’s the nature’s way to bring balance in biodiversity and give back to other species what we have forcibly taken from them.

The message is clear: animals are loving the quiet and a world free of human presence. This world is not going to be the same henceforth. This is going to be an year of evolution in human race and hope the change is for good.
